XTENSYS INSTALLATION AND OPERATIONS MANUAL

Cable requirements

Cabling for the User Station to the Xtensys switch and from the Xtensys switch to all connected computers, servers,

and serial devices require CATx cabling. For each connected computer a Catx transmitter is needed.

The transmitter connects directly to the keyboard, monitor, and mouse ports on the computer and sends this data via

CATx cable to the Xtensys switch. Total CATx cable length (user station to Xtensys to computer should not exceed

1,000 feet).

The shipping package content consists of the following:

 The Xtensys switch

 User Station(s) (as ordered)

 Power cord (North American shipments only)

 Installation and operations manual

A quick start guide is provided in Appendix D. This guide shows the basic single unit installation procedure for all

models. Expanded system installation is covered in the installation section of this manual.
